Time flows by like a channel
Leading into a large pond.
Some seconds smoothly stream
While others ripple beyond.
Filled with moments held dear
And those wished to forget,
By reflections within and out
And the people that we’ve met.
Sailing in these bodies
Are hardships old and young,
Some sunk, some still sturdy,
Yet to the blue water clung.
To the horizons we look
From the frameworks within,
Facing our own conflicts
And the wide world’s akin.
For the globe circles around,
Oft frustratingly fast,
Merely a short precursor
To our destination last.
So mind the souls around,
And share one another’s light.
One candle may flicker,
But many illuminate the night.
