The room feels suffocating, so you rush to the balcony
The view is dark, hazed with fog and low visibility
What lies ahead is uncertain
Your heart beats fast against your chest as the anxiety seeps into your mind
In a moment of guidance and faith, you must remind yourself
“Upon Him I rely, and to Him is my return.” (Quran 11:88)
Tawakkul. It’s all a part of His plan.
–
The world around you is a blur as the fears which poisoned your mind have crept into reality
It’s all falling apart — a once beautiful relic now shattered into clockwork
Your hands quiver but you draw in a shaky breath and remind yourself:
“Indeed, Allah is with those who are patient.” (Qur’an 2:153)
The pain is a grain of sand in the vastness of the plans your Lord has for you
–
Two hours past midnight that empty and still Tuesday night
Your mind wanders into the depths of the unknown, sujood releasing pushed back tears
In this moment, you find peace
For the first time, you drift comfortably into sleep
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.” (Qur’an 2:286)
Tawakkul. It’s all a part of His plan.
–
The next morning isn’t as misty
Silver sunlight seeps through the curtains
You look out the same view, yet the world is more vibrant with color
And for the first time your heart feels light
“And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.” (65:3)
The pain is a grain of sand in the vastness of the plans your Lord has for you
–
Weeks tangle into months
The air is crisp with the promise of autumn
You look out the balcony once more with a feeling of contentment you never thought you’d find
Every thought, anxiety, worst case scenario now a fever dream as you live a life beyond the setbacks
“Indeed with Hardship comes Ease.” (Quran 15:85)
Tawakkul. It’s a part of Allah’s plan.
