One of our readers share his thoughts on Amir Abdul Malik’s speech
It’s quite obvious that Egypt is on the verge of revolution; thousands of citizens protest and call for the overthrow of dictator, Hosni Mubarak. The Egyptian people are gaining support throughout the world. Here in America, Amr Abdel Malek delivers a powerful message at a rally in support of the “Egyptian Revolution”. From the beginning of his speech, one can literally see his passion and energy flow out of him in the form of inspirational words which affect the core of the youth – his primary audience.
Amr Abdel Malek states that, “The young people in Egypt have set an example for you, see that’s why this government (alluding to the US government) wants you distracted you young people, that’s why they want you at the mall…caught up in foolishness, because when young people join a movement, the show is over!” At this point, a feeling of motivation arises within me as I understand that when a group of young people come together to organize something, it’s quite difficult to stop them. When he speaks, I feel inspired, simple as that.
The cutest thing ever, is the Allahu Akbars by the children at the end. Makes me happy. Very very symbolic.
This is great. Powerful speech.
