My Islam, my faith,
Why is there so much hate
For a religion so peaceful
and most definitely great.
I grew up so proud
of this faith and its crowd
but now all I hear is the hate spread
by those who don’t understand this faith itself
My identity, my beliefs
All Being questioned recently.
Why oh why,
Are the actions of a few
painting such a cruel picture of Islam
Its beliefs and all that it stands for
The people who spread hate
In the name of a religion so peaceful and straight
Will never understand the true meaning and value
Of Allah SWT the most merciful and great.
Love and education
will someday conquer this hate
But until that day
All I can do is pray
For all those who are suffering
At the hands of the few illiterate,
May Allah SWT give them strength
to weather this storm and see to its end at any length
